Wainscoting is trim and panelling applied to the lower portion of a wall, though it can run full height in a hallway or up a staircase. It gives a blank wall a rhythm and a sense of proportion, hides scuffs and wear on high-traffic walls, and instantly makes a room feel more considered. It is one of the most requested details in GTA homes for a reason.

How we build it
It starts with a free measure and a quick layout so you can see the panel spacing before we start. Getting the proportions right is the whole job, so we set the height and the frame spacing to your wall rather than a standard number, and dry-fit the layout before anything is fastened.
We build and install on site, scribe the panelling tight to floors and corners, wrap outlets and returns cleanly, and carry the lines continuously up stairs and around the room. Then we fill, caulk, and leave it smooth and ready for paint. Most single walls or hallways are done in a day or two.

How high should wainscoting be?
It varies by room and ceiling height. A common height is around a third of the wall, but hallways and stairwells often carry it higher, and some rooms suit full-height panelling. We set the height to your room during the estimate so the proportions look right.
Can you panel a staircase or a curved wall?
Yes. Stairs are one of the best places for panelling, and we carry the lines up the rake so they follow the stringer cleanly. Curved and angled walls take more layout, but we build to fit them.
